Hydra
The Hydra is a ferocious, multi-headed water monster with a dragon-like body that dwells in desolate swamplands. While not especially fast on land, it has snake-like reflexes. In the water, it swims faster than most ships can sail. The most dangerous elements arising from combat with this monster lie in the Hydra's ability to make multiple strikes, its regenerative capacity, and the need to score hits to its body to kill it (either that, or remove and sear all of the heads)! Should a Hydra withdraw with several seared neck stumps, it can regenerate the damage by the following day. It recovers any body damage at the rate of 33% per day.
There are many legends of the "swamp monster" or "multi-headed monster of the water," that is, the Hydra. The Hydra in the legend of Hercules had nine heads, in other legends the Hydra or swamp monster had varying amounts of heads.
