Dwarven Armor

Dwarven Body Armor

Most Dwarven warriors can only afford to wear light armor even for the Dwarves metal armor is expensive as it is a labor-intensive item to fabricate.

Dwarven Battle Tunic

With the constant warfare during the Third and Fourth Wars with the Horde and the numerous border disputes with the Horde during so-called "Peace Time", the Dwarves began developing a garment that was quick to dress in and that offered some protection but was not intrusive as light armor. The second criterion for the garment was that it could be worn underneath other cloths to hide the fact that the wearer had armor on. The result was the Dwarven Battle Tunic that offers some protection while being difficult to notice that the wearer has any protection on. The Tunic is made of layers of either Fine Linen or Silk (add 190 P + if silk to the price) with stiffen pieces of leather sewn between the layers of Fine Linen or Silk.

Dwarven Cuirbolli Cuirass

The most common of the Dwarven armor is the Dwarven Cuirbolli Cuirass that has chain arm and leg guards.

Dwarven Chainmail Cuirass

A Cuirass comprised of Chainmail that protects the front and back torso of the wearer.

Dwarven Chainmail Hauberk

Most master Armorers of the Dwarves train their apprentices in making the chain links associated with chainmail starting on the apprentices first day. By the time the apprentice is ready to become a journeyman in the art of armor making he/she can make chainmail in their sleep. The Dwarven Chainmail Hauberk is an expensive piece of armor that is well worth it. Dwarven families will pool their resources together to equip their oldest sons in this type of armor

Dwarf Platemail Cuirass

A Cuirass comprised of Platemail that protects the front and back torso of the wearer.

Dwarven Scale Cuirass

A Cuirass comprised of Scale or Lamellar or leaf armor. It protects the front and back torso of the wearer.

Dwarven Scale Hauberk

Dwarven Scale Hauberk where first used by the Huscarls of Xendarna who bore the brunt of the Horde invasion during the onset of the Third War with the Horde. The standard light leather and other light armors proved useless against the Bugbear siege troops. The Konung of Xendarna commissioned the scale (leaf) armor that is now known as Dwarven Scale Armor. It is tough and it is lightweight for its class of Armor.

Dwarven Silver Chain

Dwarven Silver Chain armor offers the same protection as chainmail except it is half the weight of chain. This MR 0 armor is rare even among the Dwarves as the material costs prevent the production of even a small number of Dwarven silver armor. Legends state that the ancestors to help during the Third War with the Horde fashioned 150 suits of Dwarven Silver Chain and gave them to the heroes of the Dwarven race.

Dwarven Silver Chainmail Hauberk

Since the Dwarven Silver is lighter than steel the Dwarves lengthen the Hauberk to the knees. In addition, the Dwarves will incorporate Dwarven Silver Leggings and gauntlets. This results in a very expensive set or armor that most Dwarves especially clan Dwarves cannot afford even entire clans may not be able to afford a Hauberk of Dwarven Silver. It has been known that the Konung has awarded a total of three Dwarves with gifts of Dwarven Silver Chainmail Hauberks.

Dwarven Silver Scale Hauberk

The armor artesian Thr'or ath Xendarna had a waking dream given to him by his ancestors. The dream sent him deep within the mines where he found a rich vein of Dwarven Silver. The dream told Thr'or to turn the rich ore into armor for the eternals (Huscarls who have vowed to protect the capital city with their lives and souls). The armor is tough and lightweight for its class of armor.

Dwarven Helms

Dwarven Battle Head Armor

Between the end of the Third War with the Horde and the Fourth War with the Horde, the Dwarven realms realized the great numbers of their dead were inflicted by head wounds. The work on Dwarven heavy head armor was well under way, however many of the Konung did not believe this was enough and began working on better head armor protection as the result. The following Battle Head armor is the outcome of the Dwarven research. The following Helms are expensive and only the noble Dwarves would be able to afford them. The personal guards of Stone Rising are equipped with Dwarven Great Helms that almost bankrupted the treasury for a year. The Dwarves of Stone's Rising believe the cost is worth it. The Horde did not set a single claw on their capital during the Fourth war with the Horde.

Dwarven Challenge Helms

The Dwarven culture does not deal with Huscarls disputes by having their Huscarls ride on pack animals and charge each other with sticks; no they deal with disputes by one on one combat. Kingdoms that have disputes will settle their disputes with a kingdom or clan champion. The Dwarven Challenge Helm provides the greatest head protection at a high price tag. Usually the clan or kingdom will pool their resources together to have a single Dwarven Challenge Helm crafted for their champion.

Dwarven Great Helm

The Dwarven Great Helm is constructed from a single sheet of metal that is formed for the specific wearer thus increasing the cost of the helm. The construction method increased the armor protection value of the helm.

Dwarven Open Battle Helm

The Open Faced Battle Helm provided excellent protection for the wearer except for the face itself as it being an open-faced helm. The trade off is the visibility that an open-faced helm provides in unchallenged.

Dwarven Silver Challenge Helms

There are seven Dwarven Silver Challenge Helms known to exist at this time. These helms are reserved for the Dwarven Users of Magick that defend the realms. Currently four Dwarven Users of Magick are champions.

Dwarven Silver Solid Helm

The Dwarven Silver sold Helm offers the same protection as the Dwarven Sold Helm Plus a little extra against energy attacks with less weight. This expensive piece of Head Protection has seen use in the Fourth War with the Horde and the siege of Talis most notably the battle for Blue Jay Glen outside the capital city of Talis by the Stone Knights. The Stone Knights were gifted these helms by the Duchess of Kent.

Dwarven Silver Great Helm

The Dwarven Silver Great Helm offers the same protection as the Dwarven Great Helm at half of the weight. This expensive helm is rare indeed and there are known to be 20 of these helms in existents

Dwarven Silver Open Battle Helm

The Dwarven Silver Battle Helm offers the same protection and visibility as the Dwarven Open Battle Helm with the advantage of being half as heavy.

Dwarven Skull Sheath

The need for unobtrusive armor for the head has always been present. The Dwarves solution is the Dwarven Skull Sheath. These stylish head adornments appear to be nothing more than hats that cover the top and back of the head. Their construction holds the secret of thin plates of bone, wood or even harden leather are sandwiched in between the layers of cloth very similar to the Dwarven Battle Tunic.

Dwarven Solid Helm

The Dwarven Solid Helm as the name implies is a sold head encompassing piece of head armor that offers the wearer great protection against an enemy's blows. The helm is constructed of several sheets of metal that have been forge-welded together.

Dwarven Wide Brim Hooded Helm

One of the most unusual Helms ever produced is the Dwarven Wide Brim Hooded Helm. Actually, a Wide Brim Hood has been reinforced with hardened leather or bone pieces. The reason for the wide brim is to keep the rain off the Dwarves face and to allow better visibility in poor weather. It is rumored the warrior that commissioned the Dwarven Wide Brim Hooded Helm just wanted to keep the rain off his face. We do not know if the rumor is true however, the design has gained popularity with thousands of Dwarven warriors. This inexpensive head protection will keep most of the rain away from the face and it does provide some armor protection.
It should be noted that the Dwarven Wide Brim Helm is the standard helm for the Dwarven Siege Engineers from the forked mountains.

Dwarven Shields

Dwarven Battle Shield

Developed during the Fourth War with the Horde the Dwarven Battle Shield is designed for the heaviest of armored Dwarves that form the shield wall or the first to encounter the forlorn hope attacks. Only the anti-siege Dwarven Warriors have access to this expensive shield. These shields proved very effective against Horde weapons at close range; with the Dwarven Battle Shields the Horde began losing far greater numbers in assaulting Dwarven strong holds and battle formations.

The users of the armor are either Great or Grand Orcs mounted on heavy warhorses or Orcish heavy chariots.

Horde Infantry Armor

Horde Head Armor

Goblin Light Helm

The goblins are formable opponents as their mass attacks can quickly overwhelm their opponents in a fight. After centuries of using cloth armor, the goblins began to construct light leather and hide armor. One of the first pieces of this new type of armor for the goblins was the Goblin Light Helm that offers protection to the skull and back of the neck without reducing the visibility of the wearer.

Horde Composite Helm

The Horde Composite Helm was modeled after the Human's Composite Helm and entered into service 10 years after the introduction of the Human's version. The notable difference is the harden leather or chain male (ventail) or Plate (Gorget) neck protector.

This well-crafted helm has saved the life of many of its wearers. Both Horde and non-Horde alike.

It should be noted that the Horde member who finds them would put any non-Horde person caught with a Horde Battle Helm to death. This is provided that the person does not have a good reason to have such a helm. Please also note – it is the decision of the Horde member finding the wearer as to what constitutes a "good" reason.

Saurian Body Armor

Saurian Battle Plate

The Saurians conferred with their Dwarven and Human allies and developed over a long period of time the Saurian Battle Plate. Just watching a nine-foot tall tailed reptile walk the field of battle in the 250 to 350 pounds of armor is enough to make almost anyone surrender

Saurian Chain and Plate

The Saurian Dragon Kin realized a long time ago only fools charge into a line of spearmen set to receive a charge without some type of armor. The Saurian Chain and Plate is a compromise of protection and weight. Even a Saurian gets tired of running and fighting in armor all day!

Saurian Chitin Armor

One of the racial enemies of the Saurians is the Scorpionmen. Their hatred of each other is without end. The Scorpionmen consider Saurian a delicacy and the Saurians have an issue with this. After many generations of fighting with them, the Saurians realized that the natural Chitin armor the Scorpionmen are comprised of would make an effective armor for the Saurians, especially against the Scorpionmen.
