Dwarven Crossbows

The Dwarven Gauntlet Bow

The idea for the Gauntlet bow came from a Dwarven weapons master who wanted to give an additional edge to Dwarven warriors facing the horde. The Dwarves have been outnumbered in every engagement as high as 100 to 1. The Dwarven Master spent countless hours developing the Gauntlet Bow. The device is a small crossbow that is attached to a steel or iron gauntlet. The range of the device is limited and is designed to be used once in the battle due to the length in the reload time. The intended use of the Gauntlet Bow is as a surprise weapon to ones opponent in close quarters combat. It provides an infantry warrior and edge over his/her opponent and provides a psychological advantage to the warrior. The user of this weapon would use the archery (Crossbow) skill for this weapon.

Thunder Strike

Thunder Strike is a war hammer +5 that wields a powerful secret.
If the wielder of Thunder Strike yells the name "Thunder Strike" either in Kingdom or in Dwarven, and then hits the ground, a Thunder Clap is released from the Thunder Strike war hammer. The hammer emits this Thunder Clap in a cone shaped path for up to 40 feet. The Thunder Clap does 40 points of Crushing Damage + the Crit Die of the hammer's attack roll.

This elegant hammer uses Coldstone and Firestone to produce the same effects as the Basic Magick: Air spell Thunderclap at a magick level of ML 10. The Thunder Clap can be released from Thunder Strike up to three times a day.

If an attempt to use it a fourth time is made, it simply will not work. The Coldstone and Firestone need time to get back into alignment (recharge). If Thunder Strike hits a target on the side of its hammerhead and does more than 45 points of damage, there is a 10% chance that either the Coldstone or Firestone embedded in to the head could shatter. Once either piece is shattered, the ability to summon the Thunder Clap is lost. The hammer will still function as a weapon of quality however.

Thunder Strike is an object that is ideal to have enchantments placed upon it. Thunder Strike is a Weapon of Quality of +5 and has been prepared in such a manner that it can easily receive either a magical or a clerical imbuement. Only a Weapons Magus, Armorer Magus, Weapons Priestly Magus, or Armorer Priestly Magus can construct a Thunder Strike.

The Garv Hammer

The Garv Hammer is a Weapon of Quality of +8 War Hammer that surpasses all other normal war hammers in every way.

The development of the Garv Hammer started during the Fourth War with the Horde. It was created by the Dwarves to be used by Dwarven and Human troops. A year before the war ended (TK 1043) the first successful Garv hammer was created. They are still rare for their cost and production time; however many those have had the chance to wield a Garv Hammer will testify that it is worth the cost and materials.
